“Their dynamic always stuck with me growing up. There was something very specific and sincere about two boys just caring about each other without irony. Soft male friendships in kids’ animation still feel surprisingly rare. I think a lot about specificity in storytelling, and how “diverse” stories aren’t always about big, sweeping concepts. Sometimes it’s just about exploring emotional dynamics that don’t get a lot of attention through a lens you don’t see through often. My take on the show still kept their relationship relatively goofy (lol), but with a little more heart and dimension. ” – Austin Faber
