“Kim Possible” Revival/Reboot Not Moving Forward At Disney Branded Television. “It’s A Long Painful Story” Says Co-Creator.

Disney Branded Television currently is in their nostalgia era by bringing back some of Disney Channel’s franchises******_(“The Proud Family”, “Camp Rock”, “Hannah Montana”, “Phineas And Ferb”, “Darkwing Duck”)_** with new interations such as revivals, sequel shows or new movies.

One of the most requested ones for a revival or sequel series has been Kim Possible with some reports from insiders mentioning that the series could return starting with a revival movie followed by a sequel series back in January 2023. Yesterday several news outlets reported a the SAG-AFTRA website had a listing for a project called “ Kim Possible Reboot

However when this was brought to series co-creator Bob Schooley, he sadly confirmed that the project got scrapped with a simple “It’s A Long Painful Story ”. This is weird since Disney has re-introducing the series with “ Chibiverse ”, uploading full episodes of the show in the Disney Channel Animation Youtube channel, several clips on Tik Tok and recently new merchandise for the series.

However a month ago during Disney Channel Nite, Christy Carlson Romano called out a Disney Branded Television executive who said “a reboot of Kim Possible was irrelevant ” giving more fuel into why Disney decided to scrap the series. Romano’s post is likely referring to former Disney Branded Television exec Craig Erwich which oversaw the unit from May 2023 till March 2026. Erwich also has been the one behind the cancelations of Hailey’s On It!, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Pretty Freekin Scary, The Villains from Valley View, Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion, Saturdays, Electric Bloom __ and StuGo.

This is thanks to bringing his vision of renewals and series orders from FX and Hulu to Disney Channel by forcing shows to become hits in Day 1 without giving them a slower chace of sucess by finding it’s audience. Erwich also has been behind the cancellations of the potential It’s A Laugh Productions series “Alice In The Palace ” and a female-driven “Holes ” reboot after their pilots got filmed. Thankfully Erwich no longer oversees Disney Branded Television thanks to the leadership changes by Dana Walden in March 2026 withDebra OConnell now overseeing Disney Branded Television with presidentAyo Davis.
