Star Wars Fans Streamed “Star Wars” Franchise for 33 Billion Minutes in 2025 With Animation Being The Third Most Watched Content.

In honor of “Star Wars” Day, Nielsen has shared some insights into people’s viewing habits around the beloved franchise, which show that it remains incredibly popular nearly 50 years after it began.

Per Nielsen data, U.S. viewers viewed 33 billion minutes (equivalent to 550 million hours) of “Star Wars” content across linear TV and streaming in 2025 with animation was the third most watched content with 16.8%. The most streamed shows where “** Star Wars: The Clone Wars** ” & “** Star Wars: Tales From The Underworld** ”.

According to Nielsen’s data, “Andor” was the most popular show watched, with the animated series, “** Tales Of The Underworld** ” also being a popular addition to Disney+. Animation has being one of the most important core parts of Lucasfilm. This year audiences will get the debut of “Star Wars Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi ” an original anime mini-series inspired by the short of the same name other projects include a second season of “Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord

Additionaly there’s** rumors** that a “Star Wars” series for Disney Channel is in early stages of development at Disney Television Animation & Lucasfilm Animation with “** Primos** ” creator Natasha Kline being the showrunner for this rumored project.
