Annecy 2026: Pixar Animation Studios To Premiere New Original Short-Film From Lou Hamou-Lhadj And Enrico Casarosa During “Gatto” Panel.

Today, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival held the big press conference for its 2026 edition, taking place June 21-27 in the picturesque French town. Organizers revealed the year’s feature film selections, Annecy Presents and Midnight Specials screenings, programming highlights, studio showcases and can’t-miss events at the MIFA market (June 23-26).

As previously announced Pixar Animation Studios will be attending with a special panel dedicated to the upcoming film “Gatto” as Enrico Casarosa will showcase a first look to the movie slated for Spring 2027.

However another surprise will be showcased at the panel and this surprise is a brand new original animated short Directed by Lou Hamou-Lhadj and Enrico Casarosa. Lou Hamou-Lhadj would direct the short-film “Borrowed Time” back in 2016 which lead him an nomination for The Academy Awards for “Best Animated Short Film ” in 2017.

Lou Hamou-Lhadj also directed the “ Win Or Lose ” episode “Home” , currently his own Instagram account mentions that he has a “unannounced project at Pixar” slated for 2027 likely in front of “Gatto”.

“In addition to this sneak peek, audiences will also be treated to a special look at Pixar’s upcoming all-new short film. directed by Enrico Casarosa and Lou Hamou-Lhadj and produced by Mary Alice Drumm.”
