I can't open my web site
seantunes:
why was my router’s chosen DNS blocking my site and how can I ensure that other people will be able to access it using different DNS? Why is there an attitude out here that the Kesug domain is suspect? There are comments in some places…
Unfortunately free hosting, especially with free subdomains get abused a lot. InfinityFree is generally good about taking down harmful sites quickly, but some DNS providers and ISPs still see fit to block the entire base domains like kesug.com thinking that they must be inherently harmful. If your router’s DNS resolver was the default one for your ISP, it’s quite possible that that’s what happened.
There’s no guaranteed way to avoid ISP or DNS blocks everywhere, but having a custom domain would help as it wouldn’t have the same reputation problems. This is of course assuming it was a deliberate block and not just DNS propagation like dan mentioned; in my experience Cloudflare’s DNS and Google’s DNS resolvers tend to be faster at accepting DNS changes than my ISP’s default.
