Downed tree closes NW Stringtown Road

Portland General Electric and Asplundh crews remain on site where a large tree has fallen across NW Stringtown Road near NW Gales Creek Road. NW Gales Creek Road has reopened to traffic; NW Stringtown Road remains closed.

As of press time, more than 50 Portland General Electric customers in the area remained without power.

Deputies closed NW Gales Creek Road in both directions at NW Stringtown Road on Tuesday after a tree came down on the road, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
The road would be closed for some time while crews worked to remove the tree, the Sheriff's Office said. Drivers were urged to use an alternate route.
More than 150 Portland General Electric customers were reported to have lost power, according to the utility company.
