You can catch 'Catch Me If You Can' at Theatre in the Grove

Theatre in the Grove opens “Catch Me If You Can: The Musical” tonight at in Forest Grove. The show, based on the hit film and the story of Frank Abagnale Jr., follows a teenager who runs away from home and successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer — cashing millions in forged checks while staying one step ahead of the FBI. The musical, with music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical in 2011. Chris Byrne directs, with musical direction by Alicia Barrett and choreography by Bethany Hanson. Performances run through April 19, with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. on April 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 and matinees at 2:30 p.m. on April 5, 12 and 19. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students with discounted options for groups. Theatergoers 21 and older can also reserve “The Pan Am Blue,” a themed cocktail available for purchase at the bar when buying tickets. The production includes some strong language.
