Liberal Democrat MP arrested and suspended from party

A Liberal Democrat MP has had the whip suspended due to an ongoing police investigation, the party has said.

Cameron Thomas the MP for Tewkesbury has also had his party membership suspended, it has been said.

He was arrested by Gloucestershire police yesterday night, it is understood.

The Liberal Democrats said it was "unable to comment further" on the ongoing investigation.
