DRIVING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM

A driving assistance system comprises: an information providing device providing information to a driver of a vehicle; a surrounding information acquiring device acquiring information on surroundings of the vehicle; a target path calculating part calculating a target path of the vehicle; a vehicle control part making the vehicle run along the target path; a driving path calculating part calculating a driving path of a preceding vehicle running in the same lane as the vehicle; a processing part calculating a difference of the target path and the driving path; and an alarm part issuing an alarm to the driver. The alarm part prompts the driver to pay attention or prompts the driver to perform at least one of steering and braking of the vehicle if the difference is equal to or larger than a predetermined value.
