A method and an apparatus for improving the stability of directional cornering of a vehicle by using a limited slip differential (LSD) and torque vectoring by-brake are provided. According to the present disclosure, a method executed by a vehicle control device, the method includes activating torque vectoring by-brake control when a vehicle travels a corner, calculating an actual differential slip of the vehicle and a threshold value, comparing the actual differential slip with the threshold value, maintaining the activation of the torque vectoring by-brake control when the actual differential slip is smaller than the threshold value and gradually deactivating the torque vectoring by-brake control and activating a limited slip differential (LSD) when the actual differential slip is not smaller than the threshold value.
