An automotive heat exchanger () has a heat exchanger core () including a header part () with a plurality of heat transfer tubes () and a head tank () with an opening receives end portions of the heat transfer tubes (). A plastic header plate () is secured with the header tank () and header part (). The header plate () includes a plurality of apertures () extending through the plate () that enable fluid passage.
