The present invention describes a method for controlling electricity production on a motor vehicle, from a first and a second electrical generator (5,8), arranged to produce electricity from mechanical energy, comprising the steps: - Estimating an electrical production capacity associated with the first generator (step 51), - Estimating an electrical production capacity associated with the second generator (step 52), - Controlling the distribution of electrical power produced by each generator as a function of the estimated production capacities (step 53), - Controlling the cumulative electrical power produced by the two generators (step 54).
