The invention relates to a system (1) for producing electrical energy for a motor vehicle, this system comprising: - a circuit (2) arranged to be connected to a fuel tank (3) of the vehicle and arranged to receive a gas resulting from fuel evaporation, - a gas turbine (5) comprising a rotary member (6) arranged to supply an output mechanical torque, this gas turbine being arranged to produce the mechanical torque from the combustion of gas coming from the circuit, - an electrical generator (7) coupled to the rotary member of the turbine and receiving the output torque to produce electrical energy.
