The invention relates to a device (1) for tensioning a height-adjustable tarpaulin (2) of a commercial vehicle body with a tensioning element (4) and at least one rolling shaft unit (10) which is connected to the tensioning element (4) by force-locking and/or form-locking and/or friction-locking connection for applying a torque to the rolling shaft unit (10) along a longitudinal axis of the rolling shaft unit (10). The rolling shaft unit (10) has at least one first main shaft (20) and at least one first sliding shaft (30), wherein the first main shaft (20) and the first sliding shaft (30) are each designed as a slotted hollow shaft with an inner profile for receiving at least one cord (3) of the tarpaulin (2). The first sliding shaft (30) is accommodated in the inner profile of the first main shaft (20) and an outer profile of the first sliding shaft (30) engages with the inner profile of the first main shaft (20) in such a manner that the sliding shaft and the first main shaft are movable exclusively in the longitudinal direction relative to one another. Furthermore, the invention relates to a commercial vehicle body as well as a commercial vehicle.
