The present invention concerns an engine system (10) with a high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation circuit (21), comprising a thermal engine equipped with an exhaust circuit (18) disposed at the outlet of the thermal engine (17), a turbocharger comprising a turbocharger turbine (19) disposed on the exhaust circuit (18), in which the recirculation circuit (21) comprises an energy recovery turbine (30) receiving the exhaust gases at high pressure upstream of the turbocharger, the energy recovery turbine (30) being coupled to the turbine (19) of the turbocharger.
