The invention relates to a sensor system (100) for mounting on a bicycle (102), comprising: a magnet (106) mountable on a rotatable part (104) of the bicycle (102); a sensor (110) mountable on a non-rotatable part (108) of the bicycle (102), which is designed to detect information about an approach to the magnet (106) during a rotational movement of the rotatable part (104); and a communication unit (112) mountable on the bicycle (102), which is configured to process the information detected by the sensor (110) according to a predefined profile and to transmit the processed information via a mobile radio communication network (130) to a server (141).
