The invention relates to a capturing device (4) for a motor vehicle (1) for monitoring an environmental region (3) of the motor vehicle (1), including a camera-monitor system (5) having at least one camera (6, 7) for capturing the environmental region (3) in images (3a', 3b') and at least one display device (8, 9) for displaying the images (3a', 3b') captured by the at least one camera (6, 7), and including a control device (12) for varying a brightness (H) and/or a contrast (K) of the images (3a', 3b') displayed by the at least one display device (8, 9), wherein the control device (12) is adapted to vary the brightness (H) and/or the contrast (K) of the image (3a', 3b') displayed on the at least one display device (8, 9) in presence of an object (O1 ) captured by the capturing device (4) in a predetermined warning area (W) of the environmental region (3) at least in a partial image area (O1'). In addition, the invention relates to a driver assistance system (2) as well as to a motor vehicle (1).
