METHOD FOR OPERATING A DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM WITH AN ELECTRONIC REARVIEW MIRROR, DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND MOTOR VEHICLE

The invention relates to a method for operating a driver assistance system (2) of a motor vehicle (1). A first image sequence of a first rear environmental region (14) of the motor vehicle (1) is provided by means of a first camera system (3) of an electronic rearview mirror (4) and the first image sequence is displayed on a display device (7) of the electronic rearview mirror (4) disposed in an interior of the motor vehicle (1). Furthermore, a second image sequence (11) of a second environmental region of the motor vehicle (1), which overlaps with the first environmental region (14) at least in certain areas, is provided by means of a second camera system (5) of an environmental capturing device (6). The electronic rearview mirror (4) is now checked for presence of a malfunction by means of a computing device (8) of the driver assistance system (2) and the second image sequence (11) is displayed on the display device (7) of the electronic rearview mirror (4) if the malfunction is present.
