Adapter for a wiper blade, in particular for a motor vehicle, said adapter being intended to connect a wiper blade (12) to an end piece (28') of a first drive arm (14'), of the lateral locking type and integral with a cylindrical rod (33) defining an articulation axis of the adapter with respect to said blade, said adapter comprising a longitudinal body comprising two first lateral longitudinal walls substantially parallel and connected to each other by a transverse wall, said body being connected at a longitudinal end to a casing (46) of greater transverse dimension than said body, characterized in that said body comprises, at a longitudinal distance from said casing, a transverse orifice (45) configured to receive said cylindrical rod, and in that said casing comprises on a first side of said adapter a lateral face configured to cooperate by bearing with said end piece.
