A battery cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include an electrode assembly configured by winding a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween around a winding axis, a can configured to receive the electrode assembly through an open end formed on one side, a lid configured to cover the open end and having an injection hole formed therein, and a plug configured to seal the injection hole, wherein the plug may include a lid-coupling portion positioned on the lid, an insertion portion positioned radially inward from the lid-coupling portion and protruding from the lid-coupling portion so as to be inserted into the injection hole, and an edge portion positioned at an edge of the lid-coupling portion and recessed further downward than the lid-coupling portion in a winding axis direction.
