The present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a secondary battery, and more specifically, to a method for manufacturing a secondary battery that can be charged and discharged. A method for manufacturing a secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a preparation step of preparing an electrode assembly and an exterior material sheet including a metal layer; a packaging step of packaging the electrode assembly using the exterior material sheet and a cover member; and a coupling step of coupling the cover member and the exterior material sheet by heating or pressurizing the cover member and the exterior material sheet with a sealing belt.
