A fastening device for vehicle child seats (20) in motor vehicles, an arrangement with a fastening device and a vehicle child seat (20), a motor vehicle with such an arrangement, and the use of the fastening device are described, wherein the fastening device comprises at least a first fastening strap (3) and a second fastening strap (6), which have a common fastening section. The first fastening strap (3) and the second fastening strap (6) are designed to be guided over an upper section of the backrest of the vehicle seat (10) of the motor vehicle, wherein the first fastening strap (3) can be fastened via a first fastening means (1) to an upper section of the backrest of a vehicle child seat (20), and the second fastening strap (6) can be fastened via a second fastening means (5) to a lower base part of the vehicle child seat (20), and wherein the first fastening strap (3) and the second fastening strap (6) each have adjustment devices (2, 7), by means of which the length of the fastening straps (3, 6) between the common fastening section and the fastening means (1, 5) can be varied.
