The invention relates to a method for providing a setpoint signal (10) for a driver assistance device (3) for guiding a motor vehicle (1) along at least one direction of motion (4) during a driving maneuver (5), wherein for each direction of motion (4) a respective final condition (7) is received for at least one motion parameter (R, A, V, S, T) and current sensor data (9) concerning the at least one motion parameter (R, A, V, S, T) are received and on the basis of the sensor data (9) for each motion parameter (R, A, V, S, T) respective progression data (16) are determined, which respectively describe a temporal progression (17) of the motion parameter (R, A, V, S, T), wherein each progression (17) satisfies the respective final condition (7) and for this purpose the respective progression data (16) are jointly determined using a model (15) of a temporal progression (17) of a jerk (R) of the motor vehicle (1), and finally the setpoint signal (10) is generated on the basis of the determined progression data (16).
