METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CUSTOMIZATION OF A DRIVING PEDAL CHARACTERISTIC CURVE

The invention relates to a method for adapting the accelerator pedal characteristic in a motor vehicle, in which an accelerator pedal characteristic curve describing the relationship between accelerator pedal travel and a requested engine target torque is adapted during driving operation. The invention further relates to a device which is designed to carry out the method. The method comprises a determination of an engine desired torque (12), in particular an engine desired torque which would enable fuel-consumption-optimized operation of the motor vehicle; and an adaptation of the accelerator pedal characteristic curve as a function of the determined engine desired torque (12), such that the adapted accelerator pedal characteristic curve (14; 14a) in a range (b1; b2) which contains an engine target torque (13) corresponding to the determined engine desired torque (12) has a flattened profile (15; 15a) compared to the unadapted accelerator pedal characteristic curve.
