HEAVY DUTY TIRE

Heavy duty tire which is good in the balance between its fuel efficiency, wet grip performance, abrasion resistance, and chipping resistance. The heavy duty tire comprises a tread (1) composed of a rubber composition comprising 20 parts by mass or more of a silica having 175 m2/g or more of a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N2SA) and 4.0 parts by mass or more of an adhesive resin based on 100 parts by mass of a rubber component, wherein the rubber composition comprises at least one of an isoprene-based rubber, a styrene butadiene rubber, and a butadiene rubber, and the tread has 3.0% or more of difference between a ratio S1 of a circumferential groove (4, 5) area to a contact area and a ratio S2 of a transverse groove (9, 15, 21) area to the contact area.
