DRIVE
January 25, 2017
The invention relates to an internal combustion engine (1) for a motor vehicle, - with at least one first cylinder (2a, 2c) which has a first intake (3a, 3b) and a first outlet (4a, 4b) for discharging exhaust gas, - with at least one second cylinder (2b, 2d) which has a second intake (3c, 3d) and a second outlet (4c, 4d), - with an exhaust gas recirculation line (5a, 5b) which fluidically connects the first outlet (4a, 4b) to the second intake (3c, 3d), - wherein the internal combustion engine (1) is switchable into a part-load operating state by blocking the supply of air into the second cylinder (2b, 2d), - wherein the internal combustion engine (1) comprises a control valve (6a, 6b) by means of which it is adjustable which fraction of the exhaust gas discharged from the first cylinder (2a, 2c) is introduced back into the second cylinder (2b, 2d) via the exhaust gas recirculation line (5a, 5b) in the part-load operating state.
