METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CASTING PROFILE SEGMENT OF A SEGMENTED VULCANIZING MOLD FOR VEHICLE TIRES

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a cast profile segment of a segmented vulcanizing mold for vehicle tires, whose molding surface forms a segment of the tread profile of a tire to be vulcanized, wherein the molding surface of the cast profile segment has a defined roughness and wherein the cast profile segment is obtained by the following steps: - manufacturing a master model that represents the positive of the tread profile segment to be vulcanized - casting the master model to obtain a silicone flexible mold - casting the silicone flexible mold to obtain a casting core - casting the casting core to obtain a cast profile segment - destroying the casting core and cleaning the cast profile segment. The method is characterized in that particles of defined particle size are applied to the molding surface of the silicone flexible mold to produce the desired roughness and in that the particles are firmly bonded to the silicone flexible mold.
