The invention relates to a die (10) for a tire mold for vulcanizing tire blanks, wherein the die forms a negative shape (20) of a profiled tread surface of a tire, wherein the die comprises a form shell (12) and at least one lamellar sheet (11) arranged thereon, wherein the form shell has an inner mold surface and the lamellar sheet forms a rib (22) of the negative shape, wherein a slot is formed in the form shell, wherein the lamellar sheet is inserted into the slot and fastened to the form shell, wherein the slot penetrates a mold wall of the form shell and extends from the inner mold surface to a mold back surface of the form shell, wherein the lamellar sheet is materially bonded to the form shell from the mold back surface side.
