A control method and system (8) to control a pair of electric motors (4) driving a vehicle (1). The steps provided for are: determining, in a control cycle N and by means of a first processing core (14), for a first electric motor (4), a first electric current target (I) based on a first torque or speed target (T) ; determining, in the control cycle N and by means of a second processing core (15), for a second electric motor (4), a second electric current target (I) based on a second torque or speed target (T) ; controlling, in the control cycle N and by means of the first processing core (14), a first electronic power converter (5) connected to the first electric motor (4) so as to pursue the first electric current target (I) ; and controlling, in the control cycle N and by means of the second processing core (15), a second electronic power converter (5) connected to the second electric motor (4) so as to pursue the second electric current target (I).
