The invention relates to a trailer coupling (10) for a motor vehicle (200) with a coupling arm (20), wherein the coupling arm (20) is pivotally mounted on a holder (11) attached to or attachable to the motor vehicle (200) by means of a pivot bearing (16) between a use position (G) and a non-use position (N), wherein the coupling arm (20) in the use position (G) for attaching a trailer or fastening a load carrier protrudes further rearward in front of a rear (202) of the motor vehicle (200) than in the non-use position (N) provided for non-use of the coupling arm (20), wherein the pivot bearing (16) has a holder bearing receptacle (104) arranged on the holder (11) and a coupling arm bearing element (40) supporting the coupling arm (20), which is pivotally mounted on the holder bearing receptacle (104) about a pivot axis (S). It is provided that the coupling arm bearing element (40) engages into an interior space of the holder bearing receptacle (104), wherein a bearing groove (105) on an inner circumference of the holder bearing receptacle (104) and a bearing projection (43) on an outer circumference of the coupling arm bearing element (40) interengage for rotatable mounting of the coupling arm bearing element (40) in the holder bearing receptacle (104) about the pivot axis (S).
