The invention relates to a method for controlling an electric drive of an electrically driven compressed air compressor of a motor vehicle. The invention further relates to a corresponding control loop. According to the invention, an instantaneous load torque (31) acting on a drive shaft of the compressed air compressor of the compressed air compressor is estimated as a function of at least one operating parameter (22) and is applied to the control loop of the electric drive (20) as a disturbance variable estimation in order to reduce a control error generated by the acting load torque (31).
