A clip 11 and a tether clip 11 of a pillar garnish fixing structure 1 includes a shaft 21 and a pair of engagement hooks 31 opposing each other. Each engagement hook 31 is connected to the shaft 21 at a hook connecting portion 41. A deformation promoting portion 53 is formed at each of a pair of shaft wall portions 21a opposing each other in a diametrical direction perpendicular to a direction in which the pair of engagement hooks 31 are opposed. Even when a thickness of the hook connecting portion 41 is increased thereby increasing a strength of the engagement hook, the hook connecting portion 41 is deformed so as to approach a center axis line 11 a so that the engagement hook 31 can pass through a clip fixing aperture 93. As a result, both the strength of the engagement hook 31 and a serviceability can be satisfied. Further, since a hypothetical rotational deformation center "Rc" of the engagement hook 31 is moved to a position further from a seat 25 than that of a comparison clip, an excess-inserting amount "h" and an engagement load "F" from an elastic spacer can be decreased so that easiness of installing the clip to a body, reliability of installing the clip to the body, and suppressing tilting of the clip are achieved.
