VEGETABLE OIL DERIVATIVE, METHOD OF MAKING AND USE IN RUBBER COMPOSITIONS AND TIRES

A vegetable oil derivative and its method of manufacturing and use is disclosed. The vegetable oil derivative comprises the structure: where R, R, and R are independently selected from a C15 alkenyl to a C20 alkenyl or from a C15 alkyl to a C20 alkyl, and optionally containing aromatic groups; R is - S - S - R or R is - S - X - S - S - R where X is a substituted or unsubstituted alkane diyl, a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene, or a combination thereof; R is a monovalent organic group; each R is covalently bonded to a carbon atom of one of R, R, or R; and m is the number of R groups.
