The invention relates to a method for adapting a displayed view of a digital mirror system (16), wherein a video feed (19) is captured and one portion (22) of the video feed's (19) image content (34) is displayed on a display (20), wherein a change of a viewing direction (30) of a driver's (24) eyes (32) is identified, wherein the portion (22) of the video feed's (19) image content (34) is shifted according to the driver's (24) eyes (32) changed viewing direction (30). The invention further relates to digital mirror system (16) being in particular designed to execute the described method.
