CHILD SAFETY SEAT

A child safety seat (100) includes a seat shell (106) for receiving a child, an extension member (120), an extension locking mechanism (122) operable to lock the extension member (120) with respect to the seat shell (106), and an anti-rebound part (240, 340, 440, 440') carried by the extension member (120) and having a distal end (240C, 340C, 440A), the child safety seat (100) being installable on a vehicle seat in a rear facing position with the anti-rebound part (240, 340, 440, 440') extending above the extension member (120) and adjacent to a seatback of the vehicle seat, the distal end (240C, 340C, 440A) of the anti-rebound part (240, 340, 440, 440') being positioned adjacent to the forward end (120C) of the extension member (120) when the anti-rebound part (240, 340, 440, 440') is stowed in a first angular position relative to the extension member (120) and displaced away from the forward end (120C) of the extension member (120) when the anti-rebound part (240, 340, 440, 440') is deployed to a second angular position that is tilted an angle relative to the first angular position.
