Source
A method of brake control of a vehicle combination () composed of a tractor vehicle () with an electronically controlled braking system () and a trailer vehicle () with a pneumatically controlled pneumatic braking system (), involves introducing the brake control pressure (p) of the trailer vehicle () into a tractor brake control line () extending to a tractor vehicle-side “brake” coupling head () via an electronically controlled trailer control valve () of the tractor vehicle (). At the beginning of a braking operation, a pressure pulse () exceeding a target brake control pressure (p) is introduced into the tractor brake control line (). The volume of a trailer brake control line () coupled to the “brake” coupling head () is ascertained, and the absolute value (Δp) and/or the duration (Δt) of the pressure pulse () introduced are/is established depending on the ascertained volume.
