TURBINE EXHAUST DRAIN SYSTEM

A turbine exhaust drain system (50) has a sump (40) where liquid collects and a suction pipe (52) having an inlet end (52a) fluidly connected to the sump (40) and an outlet end (52b) fluidly connected to a core gas path passage (28) of a turbine exhaust case (22). In use, the combustion gases (G) flowing through the exhaust case (22) creates a venturi effect to draw the liquid from the sump (40) into the core gas path passage (28) where the liquid (S) and the combustions gases (G) combine into a mixed flow before being discharged through an outlet end (30) of the exhaust case (22).
