A contrail suppression system (100) includes a shell (104) having an exhaust gas inlet (106), an exhaust gas outlet (108), a condensate drain (110) and a flow chamber (112) in fluid communication with the exhaust gas inlet (106), the exhaust gas outlet (108) and the condensate drain (110). The exhaust gas inlet (106) is in fluid communication with a jet exhaust nozzle (42) of a gas turbine engine (20). A first tube bundle (114) is disposed within the flow chamber (112) downstream from the exhaust gas inlet (106). The first tube bundle (114) includes an inlet (116) and an outlet (118). The inlet (116) of the first tube bundle (114) is fluidly connected to a first cooling medium source (120). A second tube bundle (122) is disposed within the flow chamber (112) downstream from the first tube bundle (114) and upstream from the exhaust gas outlet (108). The second tube bundle (122) includes an inlet (224) and an outlet (226). The inlet of the second tube bundle (122) is fluidly connected to a second cooling medium source (128).
