A gas turbine engine (20) according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a bearing compartment (60), a shaft (66) configured to rotate during operation of the gas turbine engine (20), and a sleeve (70) configured to rotate with the shaft (66) during operation of the gas turbine engine (20). The sleeve (70) includes a variable radial dimension (84) about a circumference of the sleeve (70). The engine (20) further includes a seal (68) statically mounted relative to the sleeve (70) and configured to cooperate with the sleeve (70) to seal the bearing compartment (60).
