[Object] [0002] It is to provide a control device of a hybrid vehicle capable of avoiding an unnecessary catalyst warm-up to thereby improve a fuel efficiency performance. [0003] [Solution] [0004] An ECU performs a catalyst warm-up control, a switching control, and a calculation, the switching control being of switching between an EV mode and an HEV mode based on a driver required torque, the calculation being of calculating a start prediction point at which an engine is predicted to be started, and an arrival period of time t(D) to arrive at the start prediction point. The ECU, when starting the engine based on the driver required torque (at step S2), calculates a warm-up completion period, a catalyst performance maintaining period, and a catalyst warm-up efficient period when the catalyst warm-up control is to be performed. The ECU stops the engine to thereby prohibit the catalyst warm-up control (at step S6) if a condition for switching to the EV mode based on the driver required torque is established ("YES" at step S5) when the arrival period is equal to or longer than the catalyst warm-up efficient period ("YES" at step S4).
