An apparatus (1) comprising an electrical cable (2) provided with light emitters (7) along its length for visual communication of its position/extent and of statuses of the apparatus (1), said statuses comprising at least statuses related an insulation resistance between conductors of the electrical cable (2). The apparatus (1) is provided with a power unit (9) enabling status updates and light emission also when the electrical cable (2) is disconnected and thus not in use.
