The cable (10) has two insulated electrical conductors provided in a casing and connected to a plug connector (18) at an end of the cable that is connected with a current source or a load. The casing and/or conductors and/or a shaping element provided in the cable are designed in such a manner that the cable is held in a resting position by a restoring force, and is in the shape of a spiral in a resting position and oriented along a flat or curved or partial conical resting surface. An independent claim is also included for a storage device for receiving an electrical cable.
