A driver assistance method that is applied to a vehicle (1) includes: reading a speed limit at a position at which the vehicle (1) is traveling, from map information (MAP) in which the speed limit is registered; displaying the speed limit read from the map information (MAP) on a display device (30); and disabling updating of the speed limit to be displayed on the display device (30) based on the map information (MAP) in a first section (XI) in which a temporary speed limit is set, even when the speed limit registered in the map information (MAP) changes.
