The invention relates to driver for lighting means comprising an input and a second input for receiving electrical energy, wireless communication means, and activation and deactivation means. The driver may provide, using electrical energy received by the input, an electrical supply for the lighting means when an electrical supply function is activated. The wireless communication means may be electrically supplied from the input of the driver. The activation and deactivation means may activate the electrical supply function of the driver when the second input receives electrical energy, and deactivate the electrical supply function of the driver when the second input does not receive electrical energy. Further a driver is disclosed comprising an input, a bus interface and wireless communication means. The driver may provide, using electrical energy received by the input, an electrical supply for lighting means. The wireless communication means may be electrically supplied from the bus interface.
