ROOF ASSEMBLY FOR A CONVERTIBLE MOTOR VEHICLE

A roof assembly (3) for a convertible motor vehicle (1) includes a roof (4) and a manual locking device (5) carried by the roof (4) and capable of being operated by hand when the roof (4) is in the closed roof position according to a first operating mode, in which the manual locking device (5) cooperates with the frame (2) of the motor vehicle, and according to a second operating mode, in which the locking device (5) refrains from cooperating with the frame (2), characterized in that it further includes an additional locking device (40) carried by the roof (4) to automatically exert a second constraining action to secure the roof (4) to the frame (2) at least in response to a positioning or a movement of the roof (4) in/to the closed roof position, the additional locking device (40) having release means (54) capable of being operated by hand in order to remove the second constraining action.
