The present disclosure relates to a vehicle display device and a control method thereof, the vehicle display device comprising: a display unit; and a control unit that activates a navigation mode for guiding to a destination, and controls the display unit to display a virtual item indicating a driving direction that needs to be changed at a specific display angle when the driving direction needs to be changed within a preset distance on the basis of road information provided in the navigation mode while a vehicle is driving to the destination, wherein the control unit performs a control such that the display angle of the item changes on the basis of the angle of the driving direction that needs to be changed.
