A METHOD OF OPERATING A BRAKING SYSTEM

[FIGURE 1] We provide a braking system 10 and a method of operating a braking system 10 for a trailer vehicle including an electronic control unit (ECU) 20 which is operable to control at least a first brake assembly associated with at least a first wheel on a first side of a vehicle and a second brake assembly associated with at least a second wheel on a second side of the vehicle, wherein the method includes: assessing that a first brake demand signal has been received; receiving a second brake demand signal; in response to receiving the second brake demand signal, performing a controlled brake release cycle including: releasing the first brake assembly followed by reapplying the first brake assembly, and subsequently releasing the second brake assembly followed by reapplying the second brake assembly.
