In order to improve the tire construction of vehicle tires, it is proposed that the vehicle tire (1) has a single belt layer (3) between the carcass layer (2) and the tread (7), wherein a reinforcement layer (4) with a strength carrier (13) is arranged above the belt layer (3), wherein the strength carrier (13) has material properties with a nonlinear force-elongation characteristic.
