The present invention relates to a method for operating a system with a battery, wherein a state of charge and/or a temperature of the battery are recorded by automatically measuring and storing the state of charge and/or the temperature at multiple points in time, and wherein by means of the stored states of charge and/or temperatures, a calendar aging state of the battery is automatically determined. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a system for performing the method.
