TRAILER FOR A TOWING VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SUCH A TRAILER

The invention relates to a trailer (12) for a towing vehicle (14), having two ground contact elements (24), by means of which the trailer (12) can be supported downwardly on a ground (16), with a braking device (28) for braking the ground contact elements (24), with a brake light (34), and with a trailer stabilization device (38), which has an actuator (40), by means of which the braking device (28) can be actuated and thereby at least one of the ground contact elements (24) can be braked. An electronic control unit (42) is provided, by means of which the actuator (40) can be controlled and thereby operated, in order thereby to actuate the braking device (28) of the trailer (12), wherein the electronic control unit (42) is designed to control the brake light (34), in order thereby by means of the brake light (34) when braking of the at least one ground contact element (24) is effected by means of the electronic control unit (42) by controlling the actuator (40) to emit light to an environment (36) of the trailer (12).
